The Battling Ropes of Death

In this exercise you attempt (and it’s tough) to put standing waves of various patterns into the rope. What’s so great about this exercise is that for anyone with knee pain, who can’t do traditional exercise, this one will tire you out about as fast as sprinting will, yet you won’t feel your knees at all.

Tire Flipping

Flipping a heavy tire is a nervous system intensive full body exercise that gets your heart going and uses almost every muscle in your body.

Sled/Tire Dragging

Nobody argues with the effectiveness of sprinting for fat loss and leg strength development. Unfortunately, for those who aren’t already in excellent shape, sprinting frequently leads to hamstring and calf muscle pulls, and although less frequent highly undesirable Achilles tendon rupture. For this reason, we don’t do any sprints, but equally effective for fat loss and strength development is dragging a heavy sled or tire as quickly as possible. Essentially you work just as hard with all the same muscles, but the injury rates are virtually non-existent.

Sandbag Exercises

Almost any exercise you can think of can be done with Sandbags. In fact, just picking it up and getting it into position for the exercise can be an exercise in itself. The great thing about the sandbag is that the sand is constantly pouring away from you, making it that much more difficult to continue holding it as you do the exercise.

Sledgehammer Smashing

The action of slamming down a sledgehammer uses your abdominals in a way you’ve never experienced before. For the first time ever you will feel them working as they brace your midsection for the slam-down. In addition to your abs, sledgehammer work improves your grip strength, your biceps, triceps, shoulders, lats, low back, hams and glutes.

Rope Pulling

Not exactly a tug of war, although that can definitely be fun too, but pulling a heavy rope with a weight attached to the end is one of the best exercises ever for developing strong and powerful arms. No jelly arms if you do this one enough!

Kettlebells

Kettlebells are undoubtedly one of the best exercises to strengthen and condition the hamstrings, glutes, and lower back. They also burn off body fat FAST, as part of a High Intensity Interval Training circuit.

Bungee Fights

Paired up against your opponent whom you’ll be joined together with by a bungee cord, you’ll each be trying to flip a tire a certain distance. But in order to reach your tire you’ll have to pull against your opponent who’ll also be pulling back against you to reach their tire. Difficult, but more fun than difficult!

Bodyweight Exercises

There are probably thousands of them, but I could only come up with 50 of them. Bodyweight exercises use nothing more than your own bodyweight as resistance, but are incredibly effective for building high-level functional strength. Strength that carries over to daily life so you have more energy and experience fewer injuries during regular daily activities.
